The Hamlin Township Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a Public Hearing on
Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 6:00 pm, at
Hamlin Township Hall, 3775 N. Jebavy Dr., Ludington MI. 49431

Boyd & Mekayla Meeker of 1700 N. Marilyn Ave. Ludington MI. 49431 is seeking a variance from a portion of Hamlin Township Zoning Ordinance 45, now in effect, on the following property:

      Property ID#: 53-007-740-016-00
      Property Owner: Boyd & Mekayla Meeker
      Property Address: 1700 N. Marilyn Ave. Ludington MI. 49431

If granted, the property owners will be able to continue having a structure with a 22 foot road setback instead of the required 25 feet off Rath Rd.

Hamlin Township Zoning Ordinance 45, now in effect, Article 5, §5.02 (4) states "Every dwelling or other structure shall be set back at least 25 feet from any road right-of-way."
Variance requested 3 feet.

Ellen & Stephen Dunlevy of 23407 Oxnard St. Los Angeles, CA 91367 is seeking a variance from a portion of Hamlin Township Zoning Ordinance 45, now in effect, on the following property:

      Property Owner: Ellen & Stephen Dunlevy
      Property Address: 6023 Barnhart Rd., Ludington MI 49431


If granted, property owners will be able to construct a 6-foot privacy fence 45.5 feet along the west property line to the road right-of-way of Barnhart Rd. The privacy fence would be constructed 45.5 feet beyond the allowed front corner of the residence. Variance requested to construct a 6-foot-tall privacy fence 45.5 feet beyond the front corner of existing home.

Hamlin Township Zoning Ordinance 45, now in effect, Article 4, §4.07 C, #1 states "Fences not greater than 6 feet in height are permitted in side or rear yards and shall not extend beyond the front of the principal structure or the required setback, whichever is the furthest from the road right-of -way." Article 5 Section 5.02 (4) states "Every dwelling or other structure shall be set back at least 25 feet from the road right-of-way".
Variance requested 45.5 feet.
